The National Park Service -- National Capital Region awarded the 2001 Conservation Partnership Award to OSRAM SYLVANIA in recognition of its contribution to the of the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, DC.

OSRAM SYLVANIA was nominated for the award based on several factors including the collaborative nature of the partnership between the Naitonal Park Service, the Naitonal Park Foundation and OSRAM SYLVANIA.  According to National Park Service Regional Director Terry Carlstrom, "This award specifically recognizes the leadership role of OSRAM SYLVANIA and its commitment to energy efficiency which goes beyond its core business."

The at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial reduces energy consumption by 80%, uses 20% fewer fixtures and provides over a 30% greater area.  SYLVANIA Lighting Services designed and installed the system.
