Dear USGBC Member,
I am thrilled to have been nominated to run for a seat on the Board of Directors of the US Green Building Council.
I have the background and commitment to help the USGBC continue to excel as a leader in the green building movement.
Here’s a bit about me that wouldn’t fit in the 75-word bio on the nomination page. I have been in the environmental field for more than 18 years, having worked in the non-profit field, state government, the Federal government, and now private industry. In 1989 and 1990, I was part of the team in Boston organizing the 20th anniversary of Earth Day. I spent the next five years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Environmental Affairs as the Director of the MASS ReLeaf urban shade tree program. I then joined the US EPA’s ENERGY STAR program in its infancy and helped in its successful development. I oversaw communications, spec development of exit signs and vending machines, and mentored the team responsible for cool roofs. After five years, I switched fields and offices, working in the EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality designing the SmartWay Transport initiative. Three years ago, I left government to return to the field of energy efficiency, taking the position of environmental marketing manager at OSRAM SYLVANIA where I focus on topics like corporate environmental sustainability, reduction of hazardous materials, and of course, green buildings.
I received a master’s degree in urban and environmental policy which was advantageous not only in my work experience, but also in taking my LEED® AP exam! And I’m currently a member of the BSR/ASHRAE/IESNA/USGBC Standards Project Committee 189, which encompasses every field of green building.
The USGBC is an organization that has done an incredible job in setting the standard for green building and bringing it to the forefront. I know there are many more exciting things the USGBC can do, and I’d like to contribute to its success as a member of the board.
And with Greenbuild coming to Boston in 2008, I’m in a unique position to help the Council moving forward.

Don’t forget to vote before November 2nd, and don’t forget to vote for me in the category of Building Products Manufacturer.
