OSRAM INTRODUCES LONG-LIFE VERSION
OF QUICK EXCHANGE LAMP
Longer life for the ultra compact four filament design
halogen lamp meets higher industry standard
LAS VEGAS – October 22, 2004 – The OSRAM Display/Optic division is proud to present the long-life version of its QXL™ 750/77 (750 watts/77 volts) Quick eXchange Lamp. The new version of the QXL is a vast improvement, extending the lamp’s life from 300 hours to 1500 hours. The QXL long-life version was recently approved by Electronic Theatre Controls, Inc. (ETC).
The QXL high performance halogen lamp has an ultra compact four-filament design that offers extremely high efficacy. It utilizes eXtreme Seal (XS) Technology, which effectively protects the seals up to 500°C. Designed with patents pending by ETC, the QXL lamp is used with the Source Four® Revolution™, an automated ellipsoidal lighting fixture.
“The OSRAM QXL lamp was designed for use with theaters and studios involved in effect lighting,” said Jay Chahine, OSRAM Display/Optic product marketing manager in the entertainment business unit. “The clever base design of the QXL lamp allows quick

and easy lamp replacement without having to open the fixture. Simply a ¼ twist in and
a ¼ twist out – no tools or realignment required. This removes any possible inconveniences associated with changing lamp alignment and adjusting optical settings.”
The built-in universal voltage transformer in the Source Four Revolution allows for the fixture to be used worldwide with the same innovative low voltage (77V) lamp design.
