OSRAM INTRODUCES 4ArXS HSD LAMP FAMILY AT LDI 2005
Innovative lamp series provides exceptional operating efficiency and brightness for architainment and special effects applications
Orlando, FL (November 11, 2005) – At LDI 2005, OSRAM today announced that it is introducing three new lamp additions to its HSD family of powerful single-ended metal halide lamps, under the new brand name 4ArXS HSD® (“For Architainment eXtreme Seal”). The new 4ArXS rugged, compact lamp family will include 150 W/UL/75, 250 W/UL/75, and 575/WUL/75 versions, each designed to offer a longer service life and open up new possibilities for creative architectural and effect lighting in event, nightclub and theatrical venues.
Applying their patented eXtreme Seal (XS) technology and a short arc (5.5 mm in 150-watt, 5 mm in 250-watt and 7 mm in 575-watt long life versions), OSRAM’s new 4ArXS HSD lamps will keep their cool when conventional metal halide lamps begin to sweat. The XS protective coating at the critical seal press, or pinch area, means the difference in better thermal resilience; the OSRAM 4ArXS lamps now withstand a higher thermal stress or temperature increase from 350◦ C to 450◦ C. The new patented filling system dramatically reduces devitrification and thus enables an extra long life of 3,000 to 6,000 hours.
From architectural lighting, projected advertising and nightclub lighting, to concerts, musicals and theater, and TV shows, the OSRAM 4ArXS HSD lamps ensure the right special effects wherever needed. The high luminous efficacy of up to 90 lm/W, the sustained color stability throughout the service life, and the different color temperatures ― daylight type (6000◦ K) and “bright light” type (7000 - 8000◦ K) ― are the qualities within these lamps combined to offer end-users a new choice of cost-effective light design opportunities.
