MARK EYELET OWNERS PURCHASE OSRAM SYLVANIA PLANT

Exeter, N.H., Aug. 2, 2004 –OSRAM SYLVANIA’s Precision Materials & Components (PM&C) division has announced the sale of its deep drawn components plant in Watertown, Conn. to Jim Truelove and Bill Hamel. Truelove and Hamel are principal owners of Mark Eyelet, Inc., a metal stamping company located in Wolcott, Conn. The sale was effective July 30.

OSRAM SYLVANIA sought buyers for the Watertown plant as part of an effort to focus its operations on lighting products. Buyers Truelove and Hamel plan to rename the facility and establish it as a new company.

“Jim Truelove and Bill Hamel have established Mark Eyelet, Inc. as a leader in deep drawn technology and tooling,” said Bob Bennis PM&C vice president of operations. “The purchase of the Watertown plant represents a significant investment in the future success of the facility.”

The new owners will offer continued employment to all 68 active hourly OSRAM SYLVANIA employees at the plant. Approximately two-thirds of the 12 current salaried employees will be offered positions.
