SYLVANIA Micro-mini CFL PROVIDES BRIGHT LIGHT IN A SMALL PACKAGE
Smallest CFL on the Market Brings New Meaning to Energy Saving

Chicago, Ill. (Nov. 7, 2007) – North American lighting leader, OSRAM SYLVANIA, introduced a new addition to its quickly expanding line of DULUX EL compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) at the Greenbuild Expo in Chicago, November 7-9, 2007. As a part of OSRAM SYLVANIA’s ECOLOGIC® line of lamps, the micro-mini Twist, the smallest CFL on the market, is the latest product in environmentally-preferable CFL technology.

“The micro-mini Twist CFL is a revolutionary new product that will solve countless space issues in lighting,” Jennifer Dolin, environmental marketing manger, OSRAM SYLVANIA, said. “And with its multi-faceted ecologic approach at environmentally preferable solutions, the micro-mini CFL offers incredible advantages over most other similar lighting products.”

The micro-mini Twist compact fluorescent lamps are available in 13-watt (W), 20W and 23W models. The mini CFL is designed to replace 60, 75 or 100W incandescent lamps and boasts an average rated lamp life of 12,000 hours. These features result in less power consumption and typically last for up to 11 years or 50 percent longer than standard CFLs. One 13W micro-mini CFL will result in energy savings of more than $50 over a standard 60W incandescent lamp.

The micro-mini’s size is one of its biggest appeals. Featuring an ultra-small ¼ inch tube diameter and a compact integral electronic ballast, the micro-mini boasts a smaller, shorter stature than typical compact fluorescent lamps. The 13W micro-mini, the smallest CFL on today’s market, measures 3.7 inches long or over half an inch shorter than a standard incandescent lamp, a mere 4.4 inches. Although the micro-mini has a smaller stature, it is still usable in virtually any lamp fixture, large or small.

The micro-mini compact fluorescent lamps feature a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin (K) and boast instant-on capabilities. These lamps are perfect for applications which only offer a limited amount of available space and can be used in table and floor lamps; wall sconces; and even decorative fixtures.
