OSRAM SYLVANIA PRESENTS COLORMIX LED SYSTEMS WITH UNLIMITED COLOR PALETTE AT LDI 2005
Advanced lighting system offers a world of lighting possibilities for entertainment, architainment and stage, small screen and TV marketplace
ORLANDO, FL (November 11, 2005) – Entertainment and architainment lighting is getting a new look with the OSRAM SYLVANIA’s LINEARlight Colormix LED System. Showcased in OSRAM’s booth during LDI 2005, the LINEARlight Colormix LED System is a perfect choice for a variety of accent and decorative lighting applications, often needed by lighting designers and club owners who strive to make continual and dramatic lighting changes quickly and easily.

LEDs continue to grow in popularity as an innovative new form of lighting due to their energy efficiency, long life and the innovative and aesthetically pleasing lighting fixtures in which they can be used. The LINEARlight Colormix LED Systems are a perfect way to incorporate cutting-edge technology and lighting into decorative applications, while maintaining the energy efficiency and the long life required in a practical light source.
The LINEARlight Colormix modules provide dynamic control of colored illumination through the unique use of three chips; red, blue and green, inside each LED package. Using three colored chips in each LED package ensure consistent color throughout the entire LED strip. The units also generate minimal heat, even during continuous operation.
These dynamic and flexible features enable the Colormix system to be used in a wide range of large scale applications, including: edge lighting, backlighting of either transparent or diffused glass, illuminating facades and coves, and any number of other architectural features.
The LINEARlight Colormix LED Systems utilize:
• LINEARlight Colormix rigid and LINEARlight Flex Top Colormix LED modules: These modules are available either in rigid strips approximately 1.5 ft long or in a flexible 13.1 ft long strip.
• OPTOTRONIC® LED 24V power supplies: Compact and electronically stabilized, these units operate on a wide range of input voltage from 100 up to 277 VAC on single-phase AC power lines. Supplies are protected against open and short circuiting, overloading and overheating. They are UL recognized and FCC compliant. Damp location rated supplies are available for outdoor applications.
• OPTOTRONIC® OT RGB Control modules: Two control modules are available: the OT RGB 3 Channel DIM allows color mixing by independently controlling the red, green and blue output channels while the OT RGB Sequencer provides a pre-programmed dynamic sequence of colors. Both modules utilize PWM (pulse width modulation) for controlling the LEDs.
