OSRAM SETS THE STAGE WITH NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE TP22-XL and TP220-XL SOCKETS
New eXtra Life Sockets Bring New Meaning to High Performance

Orlando, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2007) – OSRAM sets the stage and the standard with the new TP22-XL and TP220-XL eXtra Life sockets.  These sockets are compatible with all G9.5 base lamps to create a complete system.  Engineered to increase life and improve the overall performance of lamp and socket systems, the enhanced TP22-XL and TP220-XL sockets are ideal for stage and studio .  Fixed with OSRAM branded GLA, FLK and other G9.5 base lamps, this socket allows for optimum performance. 

Due to special construction and thermal management features, these two sockets have advanced heat sink capabilities and stay cool while in operation.  Both sockets feature a solid nickel contact system, which provides excellent corrosion resistance.  The eXtra Life line also features a unique patented contact geometry offering multiple points of contact for superior electrical connection and a high temperature back-up spring providing strong and consistent contact force.  These features all work together to provide a high-performance, long-life socket.

Thermal management is improved by the castings.  The TP22-XL possesses an aluminum casting for thermal management capability.  These castings have been improved to ensure a robust package that secures the lamp in the socket.  Meanwhile, the TP220-XL provides the highest level of heat management with its innovative “finned” casting design.

Along with this addition, OSRAM introduces the TP22H/CE socket.  This new TP22H socket is the European equivalent to the standard version used in ETC Source Four® fixtures and operates with all HPL lamps.
