OSRAM INTRODUCES XSTAGE, THE NEW XBO XENON SHORT ARC LAMP FOR ENTERTAINMENT
The outdoor specialist: bright, compact and robust

Orlando, Fla. (Nov. 16, 2007) - OSRAM is pleased to announce the introduction of  Xstage® - the new XBO® xenon short arc lamp designed for event and architainment . OSRAM Xstage lamps are not designed for cinema projection applications.

Based on OSRAM’s highly recognized XBO lamp series, new Xstage is optimized for outdoor use.  Equipped with a robust and rugged lamp base, Xstage comes in a durable and water resistant outdoor package, further supporting its usage in portable equipment.  These features, coupled with its compact design, make Xstage perfect for working in challenging locations.

“At OSRAM we call Xstage ‘The Outdoor Specialist’ because of its tough construction,” Rick Laird, North America business unit manager, Entertainment, OSRAM SYLVANIA Display/Optic Division, said.  “Its bright light, compact design, and physical robustness make Xstage the perfect lamp to use when there is unstable or unpredictable environmental conditions for outdoor illumination.”

The OSRAM Xstage inherits XBO’s high luminance flux, thanks to its shortened arc gap, and color temperature of 6000 Kelvin (K).  The dimmable 2000-watt (W), 3000W, 4000W, and 7000W Xstage models all come with hot restart capabilities.  Xstage is intended to be used in fixtures with screw-in sockets.
