OSRAM SYLVANIA BROADENS SOFT WHITE
DULUX EL FAMILY

With the addition of a series of new ENERGY STAR rated products for every aspect of home lighting, SYLVANIA now offers a complete range of CFLs for the home.

NEW YORK, N.Y. (October 21, 2004) - OSRAM SYLVANIA announced the expansion of its SOFT WHITE DULUX(r) EL family with the addition of a series of ENERGY STAR(r) rated products in spring 2003.  These screw-based compact fluorescents are easily interchangeable with the standard incandescent bulbs that have been used in residential lighting for decades, they allow homeowners to apply and benefit from this energy efficient and cost saving lighting alternative.

The newest products include:
* Finally a convenient, energy-saving lamp that can be operated at three different light levels, the 28/19/12-watt 3-WAY TWIST provides a soft white light similar to a 30/70/100-watt 3-way incandescent lamp.  The 3-WAY TWIST is a perfect lamp for living rooms and bedrooms where the level of desirable light varies.

* The 30-watt TWIST, at 2000 lumens, is perfect for applications like reading that require increased light output.  The lamp also works particularly well in environments that have higher ceilings like stairways and foyers. 

* For decorative applications, the 4-watt FLAME SHAPE MEDIUM and CANDELABRA BASE and 7-watt TORPEDO MEDIUM and CANDELABRA BASE lamps also offer long-life energy savings. 

* As an extension of the MINITWIST family, SYLVANIA now also offers 7, 11, 19 and 23-watt lamps in this popular product line. 

* Also added to the DULUX EL family are 15-watt BR30 FROSTED and SAFELINE lamps, 14-watt A19 SOFT WHITE lamp, a non-attracting insect BUGLIGHT lamp, and a low-energy low-heat 11-watt G25 globe, perfect for bathroom vanity light strips.

With the addition of this extensive family of compact fluorescents, SYLVANIA now offers energy efficient, long-life alternatives for incandescent lamps in A-shape, triple-tube, twist, reflector, globe, circline, three-way twists, and decorative shapes.  A 6000-10,000 hour average rated lamp life, a CRI of 82 and color temperature of 3000K (soft white light similar to halogen), make these lamps the natural replacement for incandescent and halogen sources in your home.
