OSRAM SYLVANIA OFFERS EXPANDED LINE OF COMPACT FLUORESCENT LAMPS

Portland, OR., - (November 10, 2004) – OSRAM SYLVANIA understands that energy efficiency is a growing consideration for consumers. Therefore, SYLVANIA is continuing to expand its family of compact fluorescent products, giving consumers more options to find the CFL that is right for them. The DULUX® EL family and the Daylight Extra™ compact fluorescent lamps are both specifically designed to meet consumers’ energy efficiency expectations without compromising the quality or output of the light.

In the spring of 2003, OSRAM SYLVANIA announced the expansion of its SOFT WHITE DULUX EL family with the addition of a series of ENERGY STAR® rated products. The DULUX EL product line offers both energy and time savings to consumers. These screw based compact fluorescents use up to 75% less energy than standard incandescents and can last up to thirteen times longer.

OSRAM SYLVANIA’s newest CFL products include:
· Finally a convenient, energy-saving lamp that can be operated at three different light levels. The 12/19/28-watt 3-WAY TWIST provides a soft white light similar to a 30/70/100-watt 3-way incandescent lamp.
· The 30-watt TWIST, at 2000 lumens, is perfect for applications that require increased light output such as for reading or environments with high ceilings.
· For decorative applications, the 4-watt FLAME SHAPE MEDIUM and CANDELABRA BASE and 7-watt TORPEDO MEDIUM and CANDELABRA BASE lamps offer long-life energy savings.
· As an extension of the MINITWIST family, OSRAM SYLVANIA now also offers 7, 11, 19 and 23-watt lamps in this popular product line.
· Also added to the DULUX EL family are the 15-watt BR30 FROSTED lamp, and the 14-watt A19 SOFT WHITE lamp, as well as a non-attracting insect BUGLIGHT lamp, and a low-energy, low-heat 11-watt G25 globe.

With the addition of this extensive offering of compact fluorescents, SYLVANIA now offers energy efficient, long-life alternatives for incandescent lamps in A-shape, triple-tube, twist, reflector, globe, circline, three-way twists, and decorative shapes. A 6000-10,000 hour average rated lamp life, a CRI of 82 and color temperature of 3000K (soft white light similar to halogen), make these lamps the natural replacement for incandescent and halogen sources.

Adding to the success of the DULUX EL family, SYLVANIA also offers Daylight Extra lamps for customers wanting the next best thing to natural light. The Daylight Extra lamps use technology that reduces the yellowness produced by traditional lamps, leaving the consumer with crisp, clean light. Colors appear richer, truer and more vibrant.

The color rendering benefits of Daylight Extra lamp can be seen when compared to standard incandescent, halogen and compact fluorescent lamps.
Daylight Extra compact fluorescents have a color temperature of 3500 Kelvin, and produce a whiter light than other compact fluorescent products.
