SYLVANIA LIGHTING SERVICES OPENS DOORS TO THEIR NEW “CLAS” ROOM
Company Designed Charlotte Lighting Application Showroom to Help Educate the Industry on Sustainability and Advanced Lighting Technology

Danvers, MA (October 30, 2008) – SYLVANIA Lighting Services (SLS), a subsidiary of OSRAM SYLVANIA and the largest maintenance organization in the U.S., is pleased to open the Charlotte Lighting Application Showroom (CLAS), in Charlotte, N.C.  SLS created this showroom to demonstrate all of their state-of-the-art solutions and installation capabilities.  Located in the new technology center, CLAS allows for visitors to see new SYLVANIA products with a focus on a wide variety of applications for many market segments.

The CLAS program is intended to help visitors discover new ways of preserving the environment while reducing the impact we have on the world around us with .  It is open to end users looking to learn how to improve the sustainability and environmental management of their facilities with energy-efficient .  

Lighting Technologies and Applications

Lighting technologies explored throughout the CLAS facility demos include everything from fluorescent and halogen to metal halide and LED technology.  Each technology is showcased in a different, practical application, like grocery store freezer cases and high bay .  CLAS was made with flexibility and functionality in mind; so the showroom can be transformed to fashion any number of real-life applications.  Here are some of the efficient solutions guests can expect to see:

The latest in LED technology from OSRAM SYLVANIA is also featured in the CLAS center.  LED technology is the future in with that OSRAM SYLVANIA is fully committed and focused on developing the technology and products necessary to create the LED solutions for the market.  The installation and maintenance service provided by SYLVANIA Lighting Services optimizes the complete LED system by providing expertise and quality assistance for numerous specific applications.  Applications seen in the CLAS project include actual refrigeration cases, signage for indoor and outdoor applications, track , dock lights, and more.

For instance, SLS has installed a LED refrigeration freezer/cooler test lab to assist end users with their decision making process by giving them the ability to view multiple products available on the market today.  “We have installed five completely independent three door refrigeration units,” explains Rick Diehl, SLS sales director.  “These demos have been set up with three different shelf depths to properly show the distribution at various distances from the products being displayed.”  Demos like these provide end users with an apples-to-apples comparison of the various LED stick options in a real test setting.

Ceramic and electronic metal halide solutions can be outfitted into a series of retail, hospitality and spotlight needed applications.  Products equipped with exclusive SYLVANIA POWERBALL® technology and matching e-HID ballasts can be found at the CLAS display. 

SLS also incorporates T5 systems in their new CLAS project.  These high efficiency systems can be used for gas canopies, area , wall packs, parking garage and high bay applications.  Similarly, high-efficiency T8 retrofit systems for office and retail stores are shown in the showroom to demonstrate options; a solution for every application, budget and goal.
