OSRAM LAUNCHES NEW BTH LAMPS FOR STAGE AND STUDIO INDUSTRY
Danvers, Mass. (June 18, 2008) – OSRAM is pleased to introduce the BTH lamp, a high-performance upgrade for 6” and 8” Fresnels. These new lamps are also suitable for PC Spots using medium pre-focus base lamps.
The new OSRAM BTH lamp, which was shown as a prototype at the 2008 USITT show, is now available. The BTH is a 575W lamp operating on 115V and is a direct replacement for the 500W, 120V BTL lamps, providing a brighter, whiter light with 30 percent more lumens and a higher color temperature. Additionally, the rated output of the BTH of 15,500 lumens is much higher than the output of a BTL lamp at 11,000 lumens. At an average rated life of 300 hours, the BTH has the same life as most major SSTV lamp types.
“We are very impressed with the performance of this new 575W lamp. It was tested thoroughly in our 6” RAMA Fresnel and we noticed that the output is remarkable,” commented Scott Church, U.S. Sales Manager for Selecon. “At spot focus, it was only 21.5 percent less intense than the 1000W BTR lamp (for 42.5 percent less energy consumption). There is finally a low wattage, bright white lamp for the 6” Fresnel and PC spot.”
