SYLVANIA ADDS 37 LAMPS TO SAFELINE™ PRODUCT FAMILY
Extra Safety Feature Makes Lamps Suitable for Many Industry Applications
Las Vegas, NV. (May 26, 2008) – OSRAM SYLVANIA, the North American leader, has taken its fluorescent lamp products to a new safety level with the company’s recent additions to its family of SAFELINE fluorescent lamps. The SAFELINE product family incorporates a shatter-resistant coating, which helps to contain glass and other lamp materials if the lamp jacket is broken.
Due to this special coating, SAFELINE lamps are suitable for use in multiple industries regulated by government agencies such as the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). These lamps have also passed impact tests for usage under the Standard for Safety Commercial Refrigerators and Freezers (UL 471), as well as for flammability under the Horizontal Burning Test (UL 94HB).
“With the increased number of SAFELINE products,” Jodi Vallante, fluorescent product manager at OSRAM SYLVANIA, said. “SYLVANIA has opened up a new range of applications for these lamps in industries such as food service, schools and hospitals.”
SAFELINE fluorescent lamps are suitable for food processing, preparation and serving areas, hospitals, schools, gymnasiums, elevators, manufacturing plants and other public areas where additional safety is desired.
