OSRAM SYLVANIA BRINGS ENERGY SAVINGS TO MORE APPLICATIONS
Expansion of DULUX EL Line of Compact Fluorescent Bulbs Saves Energy and Money

Loudon, N.H. (Sept. 16, 2007) – OSRAM SYLVANIA introduces the newest additions to the DULUX® EL family of self-ballasted medium screw-base compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), distinguishing the North American leader as having one of the widest ranges of CFLs in the industry.  The ENERGY STAR®-rated DULUX EL 13-watt (W) SUPER Mini, the Dimmable BR30, the 65W twist, and the DURA-One™ A19, provide energy-saving solutions for a new and wide range of applications.

With the new additions to the DULUX EL product line, CFLs can now be used to replace incandescent lamps in nearly every fixture in the home.  Now presenting a flicker-free, true, and natural color, CFL technology has advanced significantly in recent years, shedding the stigma previously associated with these lamps. Proving big things do come in small packages, SYLVANIA offers the new DULUX EL 13W SUPER Mini CFL.  Featuring a color temperature of 3000 Kelvin (K), the new SUPER Mini produces a clean, white light that is 10 percent brighter than a standard compact fluorescent lamp.

The 13W SUPER Mini lasts up to 10,000 hours (approximately nine years) and saves $47 in energy costs over the life of the bulb*.  An ideal replacement for a 60W incandescent, the 13W SUPER Mini is ENERGY STAR-qualified, making it an environmentally preferable product for consumers.

Bringing energy savings to more applications, the DULUX EL Dimmable BR30 CFL reflector lamp saves up to $30 in energy costs over its average rated life of 6,000 hours (approximately five years), compared to a 65W reflector bulb’s 2,000-hour average rated life.

With a light output of 600 lumens, the Dimmable BR30 consumes 15 watts of energy, considerably less than the standard 65W R lamp.  When used on a dimmer setting, the cost savings further increase.

With its extended life, the Dimmable BR30 is ideally suited for difficult and hard to reach locations such as high or vaulted ceilings.  The lamp fits into medium base track fixtures, recessed cans, and in other sockets where traditional R lamps would typically operate.

As a replacement for a 200W A-line incandescent, the new SYLVANIA DULUX EL 65W twist lamp offers an energy-efficient alternative for applications where bright area is needed, such as basements, walkways, car parks, and garages.  With eight times the life of the equivalent incandescent, the 65W
-MORE-
CFL is available in 4100K color temperature, with initial lumens of 4200 and a high Color Rendering Index (CRI) of 82.  The 135-watt difference equates to energy savings of $108 over the life of the lamp*.

The DURA-One A19 electrodeless CFL features a long rated life of up to 15,000 hours (approximately 13 years), meaning fewer lamp replacements and lower maintenance costs. As a result, the DURA-One A19 is perfect where re-lamping is difficult, such as in hospitality and property management applications.  With instant brightness and a low starting temperature of -20°F/-29°C, the DURA-One A19 offers unlimited switching cycles and greater light over a wider temperature range.  Compared to a 75W incandescent A19, the DURA-One A19 provides energy cost savings of up to $82 over the life of the lamp*.

Additional products in the SYLVANIA CFL line include energy-efficient, long-life options in A-shape, triple-tube, twist, reflector, globe, Circline, three-way twists, and decorative shapes.  The DULUX EL compact fluorescent bulbs are also available in SYLVANIA’s patented line of Daylight™ true-color bulbs.
