There was a time when you could go into any store and look up at just about any fluorescent light fixture and see one and a half-inch diameter T12 tubes.

Recently, most retailers have had at least some of their fixtures upgraded to one-inch diameter T8 lamps which, when powered by high frequency electronic ballasts, are both brighter and more efficient. Today, lamps have gotten thinner still, with the very latest SYLVANIA PENTRON™ T5 linear fluorescent lamps.

These 5/8-inch diameter lamps are both extremely bright and extremely efficient, and their dramatic, slender profile has inspired some exciting new fixture designs. SYLVANIA PENTRON™ SYSTEM PS and SYSTEM PHO are new lamp/ballast innovations that are designed to maximize the system performance of T5 lamps. The system combines PENTRON lamps with QUICKTRONIC® PS ballasts to offer excellent luminous efficacy—up to 95 lumens per watt (LPW).

The PENTRON PS system also offers exceptional lumen maintenance, QUICKSENSE® end-of-life sensing circuitry, the unbeatable QUICK 60+™ system warranty, and PROSTART™ programmed-start circuitry. The narrow PENTRON lamps and slim, lightweight QUICKTRONIC ballasts allow fixture manufacturers to design T5 luminaires that are both smaller and more stylish.

In addition to offering an attractive, unobtrusive, high-tech look, these fixtures also have the potential to offer increased performance. The slimmer lamps provide a highly concentrated light source that allows reflectors or lenses in a luminaire to be more efficient. PENTRON T5 linear fluorescent lamps are available in several different lengths with a choice of 3000K, 3500K and 4100K color temperatures. QUICKTRONIC PS ballasts are available in one and two-lamp models in both 120V and 277V.

Warranty
OSRAM SYLVANIA offers a comprehensive service program— the QUICK 60+ system warranty. Once registered, QUICKTRONIC ballasts are guaranteed for up to five years, and SYLVANIA PENTRON lamps operated by QUICKTRONIC ballasts are warranted for up to two years. At the customer’s option, SYLVANIA LIGHTING SERVICES will back up this warranty with field service calls to resolve warranty claims. It’s OSRAM SYLVANIA’s version of “roadside assistance”—we call it “FIXTURESIDE ASSISTANCE.”
