ICETRON Overview

A Service Life of up to 25 Years
On a 10-hour daily cycle, an ICETRON™ system should provide 25 years of service. In full-time service, the same system should last up to 11 and a half years. This long service life is a big benefit in applications where fixtures are hard to reach or where reliable, continuous illumination is required for safety reasons. And ICETRON systems offer much more than long service life: with high CRI,
excellent color stability, high efficacy and superior lumen maintenance, ICETRON systems are a long-life alternative to HID systems.

The Right System Solution for the Application
An ICETRON system consists of a ballast and a lamp. Ballasts are universal electrvoltage (120V-277V) and are available in 100W and 150W versions. Lamps are also available in 100W and 150W versions. The 100W lamp can be powered by the 150W ballast, providing a third lumen package. Combined with the choice of a warm (3500K) or cool (4100K) color temperature, there is an ICETRON system to meet a wide range of application requirements.

Electrodeless Fluorescent Technology
By replacing a fluorescent lamp’s life-limiting electrodes with magnetic induction technology, SYLVANIA ICETRON™ systems achieve an astonishing 100,000-hour service life.

Excellent Energy Efficiency
These remarkable lamps produce up to 75 lumens of light for each watt of energy. This 75 LPW efficacy makes ICETRON as energy efficient as high CRI metal halide systems.

High Lumen Output
ICETRON systems have an extremely high lumen output— more than twice that of a 59W 8-foot T8 fluorescent system and equal to that of a 150W metal halide system.

High CRI and Color Consistency
ICETRON lamps have a CRI of 80 and are available in two color temperatures—3500K and 4100K. They exhibit minimal color shift over their extended service life.

Instant On/Instant Restrike
Unlike HID systems, ICETRON systems are instant on, so there is no warm-up period to full light output. Similarly, there is no cool-down period required before restrike.

Both the lamp and the ballast of every ICETRON system are fully covered for up to 60 months under QUICK 60+®, the industry’s most comprehensive system warranty.

100,000-hour Life
If you install an ICETRON system today and run it 24 hours a day, seven days a week, it will be 11 and a half years before you have to replace it—that’s up to 10 times the life of a standard metal halide lamp.

Cuts Costs
Relamping hard-to-access or continuous-operating light fixtures pushes maintenance costs sky high. The greatly reduced need for relamping and high energy efficiency of ICETRON can result in savings of up to several thousand dollars over a 10-year lifespan.

High Quality Light Output
The high CRI light makes colors look brighter, more vibrant and more attractive, and ICETRON’s color stability means that those colors will keep looking the same for many years.

Nothing to Worry About
