One Lamp Replaces Two
SYLVANIA PENTRON® HO T5 lamps were designed to deliver the maximum amount of lumens from the shortest possible length. The result is a lamp that is extremely bright: a PENTRON HO T5 lamp can produce nearly twice the light output of a T8 lamp of similar length, which means that a single PENTRON can often be used in place of two T8 lamps. A one-lamp fixture can be more stylish and compact, and since a single, slender tube is a more concentrated light source, these fixture designs can offer increased optical efficiency.

Ideal for Indirect Lighting
The high light output from a PENTRON HO lamp makes it ideal for indirect using pendant luminaires. Fixture manufacturers have taken advantage of the narrow PENTRON lamps and slim, lightweight SYLVANIA QUICKTRONIC® ballasts to develop sleek luminaires that perfectly complement the high tech look of contemporary installations. In some installations, these highly efficient pendant luminares can be spaced more widely apart than T8 luminaires and still offer increased uniformity.

T5 Lamps Come Full Circle
High performance PENTRON HO technology is also available in circular shaped T5 lamps. PENTRON Circline lamps deliver up to 70 percent more lumens than T9 rapid start Circline lamps. Available in both 9-inch and 12-inch diameter versions, these high performance lamps are ideal for torchieres, low profile ceiling fixtures, ADA fixtures, decorative chandeliers and wall sconces. Like all SYLVANIA PENTRON lamps, PENTRON Circline lamps deliver high lumen output with excellent color rendition and high lumen maintenance.

Making the Most of Smaller Fixtures
The dramatic, slender profile of PENTRON® T5 lamps has inspired some exciting new fixture designs. In addition to offering an attractive, unobtrusive look, these fixtures have the potential to offer increased performance. Standard PENTRON lamps are ideal for shallow recessed fixtures, sign , showcases, cove, valances or any application that requires a controlled, high efficiency light source.

More Lumens from Fewer Watts
A system using PENTRON lamps can be configured to offer tremendous lumens-per-watt (LPW) efficacy. When coupled with a SYLVANIA QUICKTRONIC® PS ballast, the system can deliver anywhere from 95 LPW (at 25°C/77°F operating temperature), all the way up to an extraordinary 104 LPW at the 35°C (95°F) operating temperature typical of many T5 luminaires. Compare this to typical T8 systems at 90 LPW or T12 systems at 66 LPW to get some idea of the potential energy savings. And PENTRON lamps are more than just bright; they also feature remarkable color and surface brightness consistency in every lamp length. This consistency is essential for achieving a uniform effect in architectural cove .

A System Solution for Every Application
SYLVANIA offers a full line of high performance QUICKTRONIC® electronic ballasts to drive PENTRON® T5 lamps. For applications seeking maximum energy efficiency, standard PENTRON lamps with a QUICKTRONIC PS ballast will deliver the highest LPW performance. For the greatest lumen output, combine PENTRON HO lamps with high output QUICKTRONIC PHO ballasts. And for complete control of light output and energy usage, combine any PENTRON lamp with a QUICKTRONIC PHO DIM dimming ballast. Since all three ballasts feature PROStart™ programmed rapid start circuitry, PENTRON systems are rated for over 100,000 starts, making them ideal for use with occupancy sensors.

Dimming Ballasts for Better Lighting and Lower Costs
Providing the ultimate in T5 dimming technology, QUICKTRONIC PHO DIM ballasts offer an ultra-wide, continuous, flicker-free 100 to 1 percent dimming range. These ballasts can be controlled by a wide variety of 0-10 volt DC control devices, including daylight sensors, building automation systems and compatible wall box dimming controllers. Unlike two-wire, triac-controlled dimming ballasts, QUICKTRONIC PHO DIM ballasts maintain an exceptionally high power factor and low harmonic distortion level over their entire dimming range.

QUICK 60+® The Warranty with a Difference
All SYLVANIA QUICKTRONIC ballasts are warranted for up to five years, and when the ballasts are combined with SYLVANIA PENTRON T5 lamps, the lamps are also covered under the same warranty for up to 24 months. At the customer’s option, SYLVANIA LIGHTING SERVICES, the only dedicated national service company, will back up the warranty with field service calls to resolve warranty claims.
