Visiting LIGHTPOINT
At over 8,000 square feet, LIGHTPOINT® provides a hands-on technology and training facility and features cutting-edge products. It demonstrates the importance of quality by showcasing available products with their various characteristics and applications.
In fact, no other centre in Canada contains the scope and variety of products that LIGHTPOINT® demonstrates. There are examples for every type of illumination, from interior accent and task for commercial, industrial and residential properties to exterior applications used in parking lots, to television and theatrical, as well as automotive .
One key feature of the facility is the "Light Show," a theatrical and educational experience. From the perception of light to the creation of a light atmosphere, this room allows visitors to be swept up into a world of effects with informative commentary and lively music. Visitors learn the fundamentals of in a setting that demonstrates the properties and applications of light sources as seen by our human light sensor, the eye.
In addition to the technology, the centre promotes education through lectures from resident and guest experts. All instructors are industry-certified and bring with them years of experience in design and application, as well as product knowledge.
Education modules present everything from basic theories of light, colour and optics, to detailed explanations of the technology behind incandescent, halogen, fluorescent and high-intensity discharge (HID) lamps. LIGHTPOINT® focuses on how to reduce energy demands, improve colour characteristics and utilize smaller, more efficient sources of light.
