Community Outreach

Our communities and our employees are a vital part of who we are and what we do.  We encourage our employees to participate in activities within the local community, and we support their efforts as a responsible corporate citizen.

Disaster Assistance

In response to the devastation incurred by victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Ike, we provided light bulbs for new homes built by Habitat for Humanity.  And when a local explosion near our headquarters damaged hundreds of homes and left residents without power, we were the first company to offer help, with our portable lighting products.

Investing in Education

Each year we sponsor 12 four-year scholarships awarded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, and 12 two-year scholarships awarded by Scholarship America.  Our Matching Grants to Education program matches employee donations to schools.  In Canada, we sponsor the Scholastic Achievement Award through the Electro Federation.

Investing in Our Communities

We're volunteers! On average, we annually volunteer 70,000 hours in our communities, and we match those hours with dollars to those agencies, including volunteer fire departments, rescue squads, sports organizations, services for the homeless and emergency relief efforts.
