OSRAM SYLVANIA Introduces Revolutionary PrevaLED™ LED Lighting Component System

High-Definition LED Lamps Offer Unique Combination of High Lumens, Premium Color Quality and Energy Savings

Toronto, Ont. and Danvers, Mass. (October 4, 2011) – North American lighting leader OSRAM SYLVANIA is proud to introduce PrevaLED™, a brand new LED directional light modular system designed with the future of lighting technology in mind. SYLVANIA recognizes that solid-state lighting (SSL) is a constantly changing market, and designed PrevaLED to make the evolution of LED technology a more seamless and sustainable process.  Addressing not only the needs and limitations of the current SSL market, PrevaLED also paves the way in preparing for the transition to future advancements in the SSL space.

The modular, common form-factor of PrevaLED light engines enables luminaire manufacturers to create new sustainable lighting solutions, despite the constant evolution of LED technology and efficiency. The intelligent PrevaLED lighting system allows for lasting luminaire designs that can now be evaluated and developed more quickly, and at a lower cost. Additionally, end users will now have the ability to easily upgrade to future energy efficient light sources.

A special feature of the PrevaLED system is its outstanding light quality with a color-rendering index (CRI) of more than 90 at both 3000K and 4000K color temperatures, without compromising the system efficiency.  The light system also actively controls the light output to reduce visual variation between single light engines, delivering premium light quality in an application.

In addition to its exceptional CRI, the PrevaLED light system is an incredibly flexible lighting solution. The platform of the two-inch round modules will be available in a range of 800 to 3000 lumens, and multiple integrated reflector mounting options allow for a preferred reflector to be attached. The PrevaLED light engines can also be flexibly combined with optimally designed power supplies for experiencing up to 75LPW system efficiency, as well as additional features such as dimming.

OSRAM SYLVANIA is committed to providing the most advanced solutions in the SSL market.
