Wilmington, Mass. – LEDVANCE announced the Progress Committee of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) selected seven SYLVANIA products for its 2016 report of innovative industry developments, with two shown during the recent Progress Report presentation at the IES Annual Conference.  LEDVANCE is one of the world's leading providers of lamps for professional users and retail customers offering SYLVANIA LED lamps as well as a wide range of traditional light sources, standardized luminaires and connected lighting solutions in North America.  All products selected for the IESNA Progress Report represent significant advancements in the art and science of lighting.

“We are committed to advancing light.  Today’s announcement is another example of how our teams are breaking new ground with leading-edge SYLVANIA lighting products,” said Phil Rioux, vice president and CEO, Global LED Lamps Business at LEDVANCE.  “Connected lighting is a large part of the future, and we are developing industry first products that deliver high quality, easy-to-control light for commercial and residential applications.  For example, we have incorporated color temperature control directly in a light bulb.  In addition, our advancements in efficacy help our LED tubes save even more energy without sacrificing illumination.”

The Progress Committee was established to seek significant developments in the art and science of lighting and present a report of its findings to the Society at its annual conference.  Each year, the committee considers hundreds of submittals for inclusion the IES Progress Report.  The committee, which is comprised of experts in fields such as sources, ballasts/power supplies, controls, luminaires and design, evaluates the entries and accepts only those which are considered unique and/or offer significant improvements over existing products available in the industry.  The following SYLVANIA products were selected in 2016 for inclusion for the following reasons:
