Wilmington, Mass. – With the new commercial grade SYLVANIA SubstiTUBE® Value LED T8 lamp from OSRAM SYLVANIA, contractors can replace fluorescents lamps with a low cost, high quality linear LED option, lowering their customers’ energy and maintenance costs.  The new LED T8 lamp lasts up to 36,000 hours (L70) and reduces energy consumption up to 34 percent compared to traditional fluorescents.  Because the SubstiTUBE Value LED T8 is not affected by switching cycles, the use of occupancy or vacancy sensors can be installed with the existing instant start ballasts for optimal energy savings.  In addition, the lamp is compatible with instant start and select programmed rapid start (parallel-wiring) electronic T8 ballasts with input voltage of 120-277V and 347V.

“For some customers that are extremely budget-conscious, LED tubes are not an option.  Now, with our new SYLVANIA SubstiTUBE Value LED T8 lamp, they can benefit from long-lasting quality LED light at a cost effective price point.  It achieves optimized light distribution because of its innovative optical and mechanical design, and is ideal for cove lighting, display case, general illumination, parking garages and tunnels,” said Fernando Ulloa, product marketing manager, OSRAM SYLVANIA.  At OSRAM SYLVANIA, we are in tune with the needs of modern electrical contractors.  We are committed to providing them with innovative solutions like the new SubstiTUBE Value LED T8 lamp to meet the evolving demands of their customers.”

The 4 foot 17W SYLVANIA SubstiTUBE Value LED T8 Tube delivers 2200 lumens and is  available in 3000K, 3500K, 4100K and 5000K (daylight) color temperatures.  The LED T8 lamps provide instant light and a uniform light distribution with stable lamp to lamp color. The LED T8 lamps also contain no mercury, emit no UV radiation, are suitable for dry and damp locations, and come with a 3-year limited lamp warranty (24/7 operation).  OSRAM SYLVANIA also offers energy savings replacements for fluorescent additional T8 and T12 lamps.  Available options include various offerings of retrofit kits with an external driver or direct replacement lamps for use on an existing ballast.
